The 31st annual “International Blues Challenge” will be held in Memphis, USA (January 20-24). It’s the biggest blues forum in the world. The organisers of the event “The Blues Foundation” inform that more than 250 bands have applied for various categories. Latvian Blues Band has the honour to represent Europe for the second time at this musical event. The contest will be judged and attended by the biggest blues festival organisers, record company representatives, as well as the most well known blues journalists in USA. Therefore it is an opportunity for Latvian Blues Band to gain new contacts, perform and let themselves be seen in positive light in USA, also show what kind of blues comes from Europe, most importantly Latvia.

The last time Latvian Blues Band performed in the “International Blues Challenge” in 2010 and that allowed them to attend many other high level festivals. The band also signed a contract with a Chicago record company “Blue Skunk Music”, which resulted in Latvian Blues Band music to be recognized not only in Europe, but also in USA and Asia.
